“ Anniversary Dinner with the hubby during these crazy COVID times. Ate outside in their patio! Beautiful!! Food was awesome! Staff incredibly friendly and attentive! Definitely coming back with more family! ”
“ There was something extra delightful about my experience here. I came in to ask a question about a neighboring business, and instead stayed for lunch. The service was incredibly warm. The restaurant had a comforting and layered patina that felt homey. The woman who I assumed was the owner (that was later confirmed) called most of her customers by name. She was nearly single handedly running the entire sizable galley kitchen behind the bar, precisely making dish after dish without stop. She was a sight to behold. I was reluctant to try an agave wine margarita but so happy I did at the urging of the friendly server. It was crisp, balanced and delightful, I didn't miss the tequila at all. My plate of bolognese with a twist of fresh tomato, was hearty and delicious. Their bread, which comes fresh daily from a top notch bakery in Santa Fe, was perfectly crusty on the outside and had a great toothy inner texture. Though the menu boasts many traditional American comfort foods, I'm surprised to not see it listed as an Italian restaurant when doing a yelp search. For the record, they have specials. While I chatted with the proprietor, I noticed she was slicing up really gorgeous looking porcini, she explained they were for their evening special. What a treat. Maybe the location is not in the heart of Taos, but The Trading Post most certainly holds the heart of Taos within its walls and is worth the visit...at least several times. ”
“ First time here. We had an excellent meal of Lamp Chops and a side dish of Pasts Carbonara ! Our server Alfonso took great care of us! Recommend the Cashmere red wine with the meal. ”
“ I live in Scottsdale but this summer visited Taos, NM. I discovered a hidden treasure when we decided to eat at the Trading Post Cafe and Gallery. I was with a group of 7 people and we all tried different dishes on the menu and everyone was extremely impressed with what they ordered. I chose the spinach salad with grilled salmon - it was cooked perfectly. I also splurged and got the lemon creme brulee - it was amazing. I liked this restaurant so much that my husband and I went back the next day and had another wonderful meal. I was also impressed with the artist who created all the rusted metal and reclaimed wood sculptures whose artwork is displayed on the patio. The prices were very reasonable, so I bought a few pieces to hang around my Scottsdale home. What a talented artist!!! I cannot wait to visit the Trading Post Cafe the next time I am in Taos. Pam ”
“ The Trading Post is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and a tasty menu.. their week night special for $12.00 included soup, salad and choice on entree. A very generous amount of food! Everyone at our table throughly enjoyed their meals! ”
“ My Fettuccine alla Carbonara was quite good. Our server must have listed 10 specials they had that day. Most dishes are between $15 - $30. This restaurant should have a "$$$" price ranking in my opinion. If you park in the back, you can walk through a car port to the restaurant. This short cut isn't marked and is easily missed. ”
